I photograph as a profession and a passion – a rarity and privilege that is not lost on me.
By day I am the studio manager for the Backcountry.com family of e-commerce websites. My team and I handle imagery for 90,000 unique items a year in our Salt Lake City based studio. When I’m not shooting for The Goat you’ll find me freelancing, traveling, teaching, and chasing trains; always with a camera close by.
I was born in the heartland and at the age of five I packed up my prized set of Legos and moved my family to Utah. After high school I was on track to become a graphic designer when a small Canon Powershot derailed my education and set me on the path I’m on now.
My portfolio is diverse, but you’ll find that I am especially suited to high end product work and fast action environments. I’ve heard my work criticized as too perfect at times – still trying to figure out what that means. Expired film, big lights, and ambitious ideas keep me up at night. I like street tacos and craft beer, useful information if you need something done.
I do not shoot weddings.
Get at me with jobs, speaking requests, or just say hello.
